About
Philip Page

Philip's family history in High Point spans over 90 years, where his great-grandparents, Connell and Lillie Mae Cunningham, first moved here in 1932.

Fast forward to 1992, when the eminent domain of Highway 311 forced his family to move from Kivett Drive (MLK Blvd) to the Brentwood/E. Green Dr. community. A part of town where progress and city investments are avoided. Even back then, food insecurity in High Point was an issue. Now, in 2026, Andrews graduate Philip Page seeks change with transformative leadership. He serves the High Point communities as founder and executive director of East Market Films and was a substitute teacher for Guilford County Schools and the head football and track coach for Penn Griffin Middle School. Philip’s professional journey includes 26 years of professional DJing, filmmaking, and teaching journalism and media at Colleges and Universities (UNCG and NC A&T). This includes producing award-winning films that were shot and constructed in High Point, films that screened all over the world. Philip has been a DJ for progressive organizations like Color of Change and created visual content for Advanced Carolina. Philip is also a caregiver for his 90-year-old grandmother.

Philip’s work in politics has gained notoriety. Philip worked as creative director, filmmaker & strategist for Irving Allen’s winning Greensboro city council at-large campaign. Last winter, Philip was Chief Strategist for Kyah Creekmore’s NC 5th congressional district Democratic primary campaign, procuring 19 thousand votes and 44 percent of the electorate with only $9000. Both campaigns focused on activating and exciting young and new voters from vulnerable communities. Focusing on issues like voters’ rights, Philip produced an AD for Kyah Creekmore’s that reached 500 thousand views, which mobilized disenfranchised college students in NC’s 5th congressional district. Philip’s goal is to be a voice of equity for High Point’s most vulnerable communities and to bring change and transformative leadership.
