Childcare is an priority and financial burden for all communities. Free childcare will open up time, funds and pump life into High Point communities. Through providing relief and opening new economic possibilities.
Community-based interruption/Conflict mediation/Violence interrupters will use data to pinpoint individuals who are connected to shootings and homicides. We will be clear about the consequences while providing help to change their lives, making High Point safer with over policing.
Data has shown that community-based intervention/Conflict mediation/Violence interrupters reduce homicides and crime without over policing our communities. These programs have been implemented successfully in New York & Baltimore by both the Mamdani and Scott administrations.

Transformative leadership does not work alone. Support for a modern High Point Neighborhood ensures that all communities understand each other’s concerns and have direct representation. The representatives of High Point’s Neighborhood Congress will add influence on the policy-making and coordination with city services/officials, and provide a voice for our communities.
Ending High Point's Food Apartheid
Food apartheid has historically been a very unnatural problem in High Point. Vulnerable citizens have long travel times to stores, along with expensive groceries.
We will aggressively end food insecurity by piloting High Point’s first city-sponsored grocery store. We will place these stores in High Point’s most food-insecure communities. These stores will support local farms, products, and incubate surrounding businesses.
Launching a dedicated city department and appointing a Food Policy Director to coordinate food accessibly and manage city-stores in conjunction with other city department. High Point’s most vulnerable communities need this directed action of public policy from our city.
Ending High Point’s food insecurity will create an ecosystem that will support High Point’s small businesses. City grocery stores will house and provide traffic to local coffee shops, maker-spaces, boutiques, and barbershops. While providing foot traffic for other businesses in its proximity.
Fight Duke Energy
Though The City of High Point Electric Utilities Department manages our energy demands. Duke Energy remains one of the most environmentally and financially impactful corporations in our state.
Hold Duke Energy accountable for climate change and environmental justice issues. Duke Energy’s failed nuclear plant project in South Carolina motivated Duke executives to raise rates on taxpayers and customers. This affects 20 percent of High Point’s population affordability.
I will challenge Governor Stein to hold Duke Energy accountable and make energy renewable and affordable. While assuring the High Point Electric Utilities Department keep rates affordable for the other 80 percent of our citizens.
Duke Energy has had a stranglehold over North Carolina’s citizens for a very long time. Customers receiving refunds for improper charges should be a fundamental right! It’s hard to understand why the NC Appeals Court rules AGAINST inconvenienced customers. The Appeals Court decision leaves room for Duke Energy to continue scamming North Carolina citizens. This, after they reported 5 billion in profits in February of 2026.
I plan to partner with other cities and towns to hold Duke Energy accountable.
I do not support any further building of data centers due to its environmental impact and inevitable spikes in prices. This includes the DC BLOX Data Center that is delayed in High Point. I also Support a federal moratorium on data centers.
Beyond powering third-party facilities, Duke Energy owns and operates its own corporate data centers, 3 in North Carolina.
Inform citizens on renewable energy options that can make their energy usage more affordable.
Free public transit for High Point
Like the City of Chapel Hill, North Carolina hosts a FREE transit system, which acts as a powerful and equitable economic equalizer.
Removing fare collection allows for multi-door boarding and removes the time it takes for passengers to pay. This speeds up routes and improving reliability

Labor
Lobbying for fair wages in Raleigh and Washington DC is important. I support statewide and national raises of the minimum wage. I will do everything in my power make sure High Point city employees can live comfortably, not survive, from their wages.
I support equitable paid maternity leave, retirement funds for High Point city employees. Including getting proper support for High Point fire fighters.
Governance
Policy decisions will be balanced by both empirical and quantitative data collected by modern tools. Making governing, procurement, and contracting efficient and responsible via paperless online portals. Adding speed cameras to reduce dangerous speeding via a warning system.
Every obstacle and accomplishment will be communicated to the people of High Point with transparency, consistency, and structure. Twitch/TikTok/IG Streams and accessible, convenient in-person information sessions. I want High Point’s social media to grow its High Point followers to 5 figures so that the city can be aware of our policy changes, businesses, citizens, and victories.
